Which 3D printing material do you need?

PLA: Easiest and cheapest

- Watch out: Softens in a hot car (about 60°C).
PETG: Tougher and slightly flexible

- Watch out: A bit stringy, so less fine detail.
ABS: Strong and heat resistant
- Good for: Car interior parts, tool housings.
- Watch out: Yellows in sun and smells while printing.
ASA: ABS that survives sun
- Good for: Outdoor parts, mounts, garden items.
- Watch out: Costs more and fewer owners offer it.
TPU: Flexible and rubbery
- Good for: Phone cases, grips, gaskets, feet.
- Watch out: Slow to print, so it costs more.
Nylon: Tough and wear resistant
- Good for: Gears, hinges, moving parts.
- Watch out: Absorbs moisture and costs more.
Resin: Smoothest, finest detail
- Good for: Miniatures, jewelry, detailed busts.
- Watch out: Brittle and needs careful handling.
